The University needs one or more adjunct faculty to teach sections of history (noted below). This is a resident part-time/temporary teaching position, and the adjunct will be required to teach on campus.

Fall 2020:

Two sections of HIS 1110 World History (3), Tues/Thur 8:00-9:15am, Tues/Thur 9:30-10:45am on main campus

One section of HIS 1110 World History (3) at CIU’s additional location at Kirkland Correctional Institute, Columbia, SC (male instructor needed)

Spring 2021:

One section of HIS 1110 World History (3) Tue/Thur 9:30-10:45am, one section of HIS 2310 US History and Government (3) Tues/Thur 8:00-9:15am



• Establish a strong academic, social and cognitive presence
• Lead robust classroom discussion
• Grade student work with rubrics and provide appropriate feedback in a timely manner
• Advise and counsel students with coursework questions
• Offer suggestions for course improvements



• Minimum Master’s degree in history
• Experience teaching on college or university level required
• Christian faith in accordance with the ethos of Columbia International University
