CNC6710-01-FA12 Brief /Solution-Focused Counseling

You will examine the philosophical base, strategies, and skills of several models of brief counseling such as problem-solving and solution-focused counseling. Particular attention will be given to the practical techniques of each model. The class includes an emphasis on the integration of these models within your theological perspective. This course is particularly useful to time-limited counselors such as clinical and pastoral counselors, chaplains, crisis counselors, and people involved in missionary member care. Prerequisite: CNC 6400
