GRE4113-01-SP13 New Testament Greek Reading

This course will give you practice in aided reading and finished translation of a variety of authors and genres in the Greek New Testament. You will be exposed to narrative, didactic discourse, parables, and formal speeches in the Gospels and Acts. You will read in the doctrinal and ethical instruction of the Pauline epistles. You will encounter the sermonic and apocalyptic material of the General Epistles and Revelation. In addition to developing a comfort level for reading in any part of the Greek New Testament, you will gain an appreciation for what aspects of genre and rhetorical features can contribute to understanding the meaning intended by the New Testament author.
