Transitions to Campus

Housing

Information for the residence halls, Pine View Apartments, and off-campus housing options can be found on CIUOnline.  Students may submit their on-campus housing requests once registration has opened for the semester they plan to attend.  Registration is open once the Registrar alerts new students through their CIUOnline email accounts.  Additional questions can be directed to the Residence Life office at (803) 807-5485.

Health Form

In order to enroll for courses at CIU, each student must fill out and submit the Health Form attached at the bottom of this page to the Health Services office. Contact Health Services with any questions at (803) 807-5056.

Health Insurance

All students are required to have health insurance.  You will be asked to provide proof of insurance coverage each semester (typically at, or prior to, registration).  If you are covered by a guardian's or employer's plan, please verify your coverage will remain in effect while you are a student and that you will be covered in South Carolina.  Each student should have a copy of his or her insuance card in case medical care is needed.

If you do not have coverage, you must enroll in the CIU-sponsored plan.  More information on this plan can be found here. If you enroll for the insuance online, the cost of the insurance will be added to your fee statement.  If you waive the student insurance, you must also provide a copy of your current insurance I.D. card to Health Services.
