McQuilkin Scholarship Event Details
During this exciting event, you'll get to interact with current students, CIU faculty and staff, and potential classmates. Most of all, you'll be competing for a chance to win a full-tuition scholarship to CIU.
To receive an invitation to the McQuilkin Scholarship Event, a student must:
- be accepted to Columbia International University
- be a 2016-2017 high school graduate
- have a minimum 1,000 SAT (critical reading and math combined) or minimum 21 ACT composite score
- have a minimum high school grade point average of 3.0
November 1: Invitations start going out
February 10-11: McQuilkin Scholarship Weekend
Attendees check-in between 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. on Friday afternoon at the Alumni Center, and the event concludes at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. A full student and optional parent schedule with more details will be sent to participants when we get closer to the event.
March 1: All students notified regarding McQuilkin Scholarship decision
Scholarship Details & Restrictions
The McQuilkin full-tuition scholarship is applied after any eligible state and federal aid are awarded; recipient is not eligible for any other CIU scholarships. The student must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or greater. All U.S. citizens must complete a FAFSA.
If you are flying into Columbia, we can arrange for a CIU representative to pick you up from the Columbia Metropolitan Airport. All students will stay on campus with a student host. Overnight accommodations are provided for participating students at no charge.
Parents are encouraged to join the student for the weekend activities but are not provided overnight accommodations. Parents outside of Columbia are encouraged to stay in an area hotel.
