Michelle L. K. Raven joined CIU in 2017 and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2020.  She is a retired USAF Lieutenant Colonel (JAG Corp) and was a missionary with Christar International for five years.  She has ministered in over 15 countries and continues to train and lead teams in outreach efforts around the world.  Dr. Raven has led and developed training and course curriculum on inclusion/reconciliation, missions/outreach, biblical entrepreneurship and leadership for universities, churches and other organizations.

Victor H. Cuartas joined the CIU faculty in 2016 and is the Elmer V. Thompson Chair of Church Planting at CIU. Previously, he taught global missions and church ministry at Regent University (2006-2016). He also served several years in missions and church planting in his home country of Colombia before continuing his ministry in the United States. Cuartas is actively involved with Crossover Global, a church planting organization that desires to see God glorified by providing gospel access through the planting of multiplying churches among unreached people groups.

      Ed Smither joined the Columbia International University faculty in 2012. Previously, he taught church history and intercultural studies at Liberty University (2006-2012) and spent fourteen years in intercultural ministry in North Africa, France, and the USA.

        Dr. Castor and his wife, Katie, served as YWAM missionaries in South Asia before coming to CIU.  He started working at the Zwemer Center for Muslim Studies in 2008.  His research interests are in Muslim-Christian relations and cognitive anthropology.  The process of identity formation for Muslim immigrants in America was the focus of his PhD research.  Dr. Castor teaches courses in Muslim-Christian relations and missiology.

        Warren Larson joined the Columbia International University faculty in 1996.  Previously, he worked among Muslims in Pakistan for twenty-three years (1968-1991).  While church planting was the main task, he also conducted a reading room (1968-1976), and administered a Bible correspondence school (1976-1991).  For ten years, Larson was field director of Christar in Pakistan (1978-1988), is former Director of the Zwemer Center for Muslim Studies, and currently teaches online courses.  He also helps students with their writing projects.  Due to Dr.

        Dr. Cashin is professor of intercultural studies in the College of Intercultural Studies at CIU. Previously, he lived in Sweden, where he served as pastor of two churches.
