Chaplaincy

Is God calling you to the chaplaincy?

Answering this call is now easier than ever! Columbia International University (CIU) and the U.S. Army have formed a partnership which provides a $4,500 annual scholarship for selected students enrolled in the Army's Chaplain Candidate Program and CIU's Seminary and School of Missions.

As an Army chaplain, you will answer God's call to minister to America's heroes. You will help young men and women make it through some of the most difficult and rewarding moments of their lives. You will befriend, counsel, lead, mentor, and just be there using the Word of God to encourage, comfort, and instruct. Whether it's preaching, counseling or presiding at a baptism, God will use you to bring much-needed spiritual guidance, hope, and compassion to all those around you.

Col. Charles E. Willams

Col. Charles E. Williams, commander of the U.S. Army Special Missions Brigade, on the importance of chaplains during his tour of duty in Iraq: "Just like a surgeon is right there next to you, the chaplain is right there next to you. Chaplains rode in the vehicle behind me all 18 months in Baghdad. I call for my chaplain, just as often as I call for fire support."
