CIU is more than an undergraduate school, graduate school, and seminary! Along with its Higher Education division, the CIU corporation maintains the following ministries:

Ben Lippen School

Ben Lippen School (BLS) is an evangelical, Christian school for grades K4-12. Founded in 1940 by Robert C. McQuilkin, first president of Columbia International University, BLS began as a boarding school in Asheville, North Carolina. In 1988 BLS moved from Asheville to new facilities on the CIU campus, offering a program for middle and high school students. In 1989 the elementary school program was begun. The schools are college preparatory and coeducational. The middle and high school have both boarding and day students. BLS is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, 1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia 30033, (404) 679-4500 and the Association of Christian Schools International.



Radio Station WMHK 89.7 FM

With a mixture of contemporary Christian music, solid Bible teaching, and award-winning local news, WMHK is one of the best known religious radio stations in the United States. In September 1997, WMHK was recognized by the National Association of Broadcasters as the "Religious/Gospel Station of the Year."



Radio Station WRCM 91.9 FM

A non-commercial FM contemporary Christian music station which broadcasts 24 hours a day to the Charlotte-Metrolina area. WRCM is consistently recognized as one of the top Christian stations in the nation with one of the largest listening audiences for its size. The programming format features 70 percent music plus Bible-centered programs with local, national and international news updates throughout the day.


CIU Prison Initiative

1To know Him and to make Him known "behind the walls"
The mission of the initiative is to train inmates to live inaccordance with biblical principles and to equip them for the unique ministry opportunities afforded by their incarceration. The Prison Initiative is an effort to reach the men and women who are incarcerated in South Carolina prisons. After visiting Angola Prison and seeing the impact of the seminary program there, South Carolina Corrections Director Jon Ozmint has pledged his cooperation with Columbia International University in this endeavor.
