Description

The Middle Eastern Studies major is Columbia International University's first major that features an entire year of study in an overseas context. Students complete their junior year at Jerusalem University College (JUC), an evangelical institution of higher education with which CIU has had a consortial relationship for years. The Middle Eastern Studies major provides extensive exposure to Middle Eastern life and culture, helps students develop cross-cultural communication and ministry skills, acquaints students firsthand with the geography of Israel, Egypt, and Jordan, and prepares them for international ministry opportunities.

Resident Faculty

John Crutchfield John Crutchfield (D.Phil., Hebrew Union College) John grew up in the suburbs of Cleveland, Ohio, and enjoys being outside in cold weather.
