Jesus>Religion

Okay, so most of you have probably seen or heard of this video going viral on Facebook, please know and understand that what I am about to say is solely my opinion and I guess rebuttal to what some people have said about the video.

First of all, I'm VERY impressed that a GUY is that bold and honest about his love for Christ, his struggles (His video Sexual Healing is amazing!), and just spits straight up truth every time he opens his mouth. Honestly, I can't say I know too many guys that are that bold about their love for Christ like that guy is, so I have the utmost respect and admiration for him for that very reason. That being said, I am not saying that there aren't any good Christian guys out there, I'm just saying that I really think we are lacking in the area of being bold and unashamed as Christians - male AND female alike.

Now, I know that a lot of people have gotten defensive about this whole Jesus>Religion thing, but think about it this way......Think about any other "religion" such as Islam, Buddhism, Jehovah's Witness, Hindu, etc, etc.....ALL of those religions I just listed are definitely religions - it's all about following a set of rules, regulations, pretty much constant works so that they can accomplish top notch status in their religion.

But with Jesus, it's different, SO different. Our works get us NOWHERE, it is all about grace. In Ephesians 2:8-9 it says "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith, and this not from yourselves. It is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast."

See, as Christians, we have been saved through grace! Grace being that God sent His only Son to die for us on the cross, Him bearing all of our sins, taking that all away, and giving us life through and in Him when we definitely did not and still don't deserve it. If our relationship with Christ was all about works, we would get conceited and think that it's all about us, we would think that we don't need God when we got to a point where we thought we were okay to go on our own. As Christians, we are the only ones who truly have a personal relationship with our God, all the other religions have to keep working and working so that they can accomplish a status and success. But with God, He says "Your sin is great, but I am greater. I have given you never-ending grace, unfailing love, and everlasting life."

Now, what other religion says that? None. What other religion has the privilege of having a personal and intimate relationship with their Creator/God? None. All the other religions are all about working while ours is all about grace.

That being said, don't think that I'm saying sin is okay because it's not. All through out the Bible, God definitely warns and tells us about the dangers of sin, but it is by His grace that we are able to overcome our sins - NOT by our own works as humans that are flawed and fail. It is because of God's grace that we all are even here on this Earth today.

In Christ,
