In Marshall Segal's article entitled "Single, Satisfied, and Sent: Mission for the Not-Yet Married" Segal explains that, in many ways, being single is either a calling or it is a season. And what are all Christians, married or unmarried, called to do? Glorify God in whatever season He has us in. In this article, Segal writes, "My hope in reflecting on Paul’s words is to restore hope and ambition in the hearts of the not-yet married and set them solidly on mission in their singleness."
Many young people long for a spouse and pray that college will be the place that brings them to their mate. But while you're waiting (or learning that God has called you to be single), make the most of the opportunities God has given you now.
