Timothy.

Timothy. We have all heard of him through out Paul's letters and we always hear and read about Paul exhorting and uplifting Timothy.

Paul and Timothy had a mentor/student relationship, at least that's the way I see it.
Paul was the example to Timothy and Timothy took on Paul's nature and example to the fullest extent, in 1 Timothy 4:12, we read an encouraging verse about to not let people look down on us because we are young but to set an example for those around us.
I consider that a challenge to be accepted and accomplished through the power of Christ, so many times young people sit back because they do not want to upset anyone, they do not want to go against the grind and so on and so forth. I definitely understand that and have been there myself, but I think we need more "Timothy's" in this world. Our generation is the generation that is going to fully seek the Lord and that's just what Timothy did and even beyond that!
While we do need to avoid offending people, we cannot worry about pleasing people all the time - our ultimate goal is to please God. In Galatians 1:10, it says "Am I trying to win the approval of men or of Christ? if I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ."
That verse alone tells us that if we are servants of Christ, we should not be trying to please men. As servants, we serve our master and our Master is Jesus Christ. Just look in the New Testament in the Gospels (I think John) where Jesus washed the disciples feet and told them how they call Him "Teacher" and "Lord" and He is that, but if they call Him that, they are to be His servants and serve the same way He served them in washing their feet. He not only expects us to serve Him but commands us to do so, questioning Him is not an option.
Check out Philippians 2:1-11, it sums up humility and how we should imitate it as believers of Jesus, who was the ultimate example of humility.
