Professor of Clinical Counseling
Andrea Barbian-Shimberg holds a Ph.D. in Leadership with an emphasis on Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Kentucky.
In addition to teaching at CIU, Andrea has a private practice in Huntersville, North Carolina where she primarily counsels adolescents, young adults and individuals struggling with eating disorders.
She and her husband Brian have four children and an adopted black lab puppy named Watson. In her spare time Andrea enjoys riding her bike, relaxing at the lake, coaching soccer and watching Clemson football.
