James Hagerty serves as the Program Administrator for the Ed.D. program and enjoys working with and encouraging doctoral students. Before beginning his own doctoral work in science education at the University of Michigan, James taught students from all over the world in elementary, middle, and high school at Shenyang International School in northeast China for nearly a decade.  His work with national teachers while being the assistant principal led to his desire to become a teacher educator.   James has been married to his wife J.J. for a decade and together they love and care for their two children, Jasmine and Jadon.
