Born and raised in Maine, Nancy moved to SC in 2006 to work at a local high school as Technology and Information Specialist. God had other plans though! After a year at the Columbia high school, she started working at Columbia International University as a temp and now is the Reference Specialist for Acquisitions at G. Allen Fleece Library. The Acquisitions Department was developed in 2008 which consists of three components; Purchasing all books/media, Donations and Serials/Journals. Nancy has a very diverse work field as she has worked in public, school and now academic libraries. She enjoys working with student workers and volunteers.
She is a member of the Association of Christian Librarians and enjoys attending their yearly conference. As a member she has had the opportunity to index for CPI, Christian Periodical Index and mentor a librarian from a small Christian College in SC.
Nancy is also the Fleece Library representative for the Prison’s Initiative Program. She works with the inmates who manage the library at Kirkland Correctional Institution.
