Gordon B. Brown

Ed. D. Program Director


Dr. Gordon Brown, Director of the Doctor of Education Program, joined the CIU resident faculty in 2003. He previously served as Provost of Simpson College since 1989. He brings twenty years of Christian school administration experience to his instructional and administrative work. Dr. Brown has authored a book on supervision for Christian schools.

B.A., Wheaton College; M.A.T., Rollins College; Ed.D., University of Miami; headmaster, Asheville Christian Academy, 1974-77, 84-89; principal, Miami Christian School, 1970-74, 77-84; provost, associate professor of education, Simpson College, 1989-2003. Doctoral dissertation: "Leader Behavior and Faculty Cohesiveness in Christian Schools."

 

Elaine Lindsey

Director of MEd Programs


Dr. Elaine Lindsey serves as MEd Program Director as well as Director of Curriculum and Instruction at Ben Lippen Schools, a K-12 Christian school located on the campus of CIU. Her background and on-going experience in curricular issues, instructional supervision, and curriculum evaluation and development, make her a valuable asset to the MEd programs.

Milton V. Uecker

Academic Dean of the Graduate School


Dr. Milt Uecker, Ed.D., is the dean of the Graduate School and teaches courses on educational philosophy, early childhood education, and curriculum. He is the co-director of the International Institute of Christian School Educators and has been the chairman of the board of the National Institute for Learning Disabilities since 1991. He is an international conference speaker and a member of Who's Who in American Education. Dr. Uecker views placing God’s Word at the center of the curriculum as essential to the Christian school movement.

James E. Watson

Ed.D. Research and Dissertation Coordinator

Dr. Jim Watson was born in Indiana and lived in the Midwest for most of his life. He is a graduate of Asbury College, Columbia Theological Seminary and received a Ph.D. from Ohio State University in 1983. He has served a number of churches and institutions as teacher, coach, pastor, school administrator and/or professor. Several years ago, he determined, and others concurred, that his primary spiritual gift is teaching, and, in doing just that, he experiences a tremendous sense of fulfillment. Jim is so grateful to CIU for the opportunity to serve God and CIU as a professor and mentor to graduate and undergraduate students who are teaching or preparing to teach. Additional interests are reading, sports and watching John Wayne westerns. He loves spending time with his daughters, Jennifer and Susan, and his wife, Lynn.

Ron Kroll

Education and Experience:

Dr. Kroll provides leadership for distance education, online and independent learning, and extension sites. His background includes distance support services and technology training at one of the pioneers of non-traditional doctoral education, and two decades of experience in Christian ministry and Bible college service.
