Description

The Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program in Early Childhood and Elementary Education leads to initial South Carolina Licensure for grades PK-3 and 2-6. The program emphasizes the knowledge, skills, and dispositions professional teachers need for teaching in public or Christian schools. The CIU Professional Education Program envisions a learning environment that provides models, growth experiences, and communities of practice for equipping Christian educators who make wise decisions as they create effective learning communities. Full time students can complete these programs in as little as 16 months. Teachers with three years of classroom experience can waive the student teaching requirement with prior approval.

Annual statistics concerning the program are presented in the Title II Institutional Report. The report is in PDF format and Adobe Acrobat Reader is required to view the report. If you do not already have Acrobat Reader, you may get the Acrobat Reader free download here.
