Graduate School classFACULTY: 12 resident faculty members, committed to excellence in modeling, instruction and mentoring. Student/faculty ratio is 9:1.

EDUCATIONAL PERSPECTIVE: It is the intention of the Graduate School to include in its educational values a full commitment to biblical literacy coupled with a ministry orientation and marketable, professional skills. To fulfill the Great Commission in a variety of settings, graduates must have a biblical servant-leader orientation and refined professional skills. The programs of the Graduate School require demonstrated excellence in areas of value, inquiry, knowledge and practice.

EDUCATIONAL FORMATS AND SITES: The CIU Graduate School offers courses by distance learning as well as many local practicum and internship sites.

ACCREDITATION: Fully accredited regionally by Southern Association of Colleges and Schools; approved by Association of Christian Schools International and South Carolina Department of Education for licensure (MAT).

FACILITIES: The CIU Graduate School shares a 400-acre wooded campus with other educational ministries of Columbia International University. The Graduate School has its own complex of buildings with administration and faculty offices and classrooms. A library, computer center, and campus network provide access to study and research materials through print resources, databases, and online access. The campus has amenities for resident life - dormitories, student center with dining hall and bookstore, chapel, athletic facilities, and a mobile home village for married students.

classSTUDENT BODY: 154 students are currently enrolled in the fall 2005 semester in various Graduate School programs.

  • Age Distribution: 54% in their twenties, 18% in their thirties, 19% in their forties, and 9% over fifty. Marital Status: 46% married, 54% single.
  • Geographic Distribution: 69% from the Southeast, 10% from the Northeast, 8% from the Midwest, 1% from the Northwest, 7% from the Southwest, 4% from other countries.
  • Ethnic Mix: 87% white, 4% non-resident alien, 4% African American, 2% Asian or Hispanic.
  • Denominational Affiliation: 64% Other Denominations, 17% Baptist, 13% Presbyterian, 6% Christian & Missionary Alliance.
