Distributed Content Management System (DCMS)
There are two "managers" used in the CIU DCMS. One is for editing single pages on the site, and is called the Page Manager. The file system operates very much like the drives on our network, using files and folders. The actual content editor is called XStandard, and operates very much like Microsoft Word.
The second manager is the Table Manager. It operates like a database, with lines to enter data that will display in a pre-programmed way on various pages of the site.
Page and Table Assignments - This Excel file contains a worksheet on page assignments, and a worksheet on table assignments. To access the Page and Table managers, click on the appropriate link below. The username and password will be the same ones you use to access CIUnet.
Page Manager - also known as "shares", this tool helps you organize files and edit HTML pages.
Table Manager - this tool helps you edit data in a table that can be used on one or several places across the site.
Also, here are some tutorials we have either developed (blue links) or are developing (bold black listings) to guide you in downloading the appropriate controls, and using the editors. The IT Helpdesk can be contacted to set anyone up with access to pages of the website that they need to edit, and training on how to use the editors.
