The Zwemer Center for Muslim Studies:
Courses & Seminars

Every year the Zwemer Center for Muslim Studies offers graduate-level courses through Columbia International University in Columbia, SC. Most classes are one-week intensives offered on campus in January and throughout July, some are available through Distance Education year-round, and a few are offered on-campus during the regular semester. All intensive courses may also be taken as a seminar (non-credit).

  • ICS/MIS 6025: The Life of Muhammad
    offered during the fall or spring semester per the professor's approval
  • ICS/MIS 6012: Islamic Theology
    offered during the fall or spring semester per the professor's approval

Degree programs for Master of Arts, No Concentration (M.A.) and Master of Divinity, No Concentration (M.Div.) curricula include 21 elective hours in which students may tailor their schedule to take courses in Islam. Students who have successfully completed 4 Muslim Studies courses are eligible to receive a Certificate in Muslim Studies (non-accredited).
