Chapin, S.C. Businessman Named to CIU Board

Marion Hill Davis

A Columbia-area businessman and church elder is the newest member of the Columbia International University Board of Trustees.  Marion Hill Davis of Chapin was elected to the board at its February meeting.  

Davis is the president of Bilt Rite Corporation Overhead Door Company of Columbia andvice president of the Marwin Company in Columbia, manufacturer of specialized stairways, mirrors, doors and door frames.       

Davis is a graduate of A.C. Flora High School, Newberry College, and has a Doctor of Humane Letters from Columbia International University.  He is also a veteran of the United States Air Force.  

Davis is active in his church and the community.  He is member of First Presbyterian Church in Columbia where he serves as a member of the Local Missions Committee.  Davis is also a member of the State Board of Child Evangelism Fellowship, a board member of Missionary Resources of Columbia, and a long-term board member of Ben Lippen School, a ministry of Columbia International University.    

Davis has been married to Kate S. Davis for 42 years.  They have three adult children.  

Davis says he is looking forward to contributing to the CIU Board of Trustees.

“I feel that the appointment is a calling from God and I look forward to serving Him through CIU,” Davis said.
