CIU Alumnus Finalist for S.C. Teacher of the Year

A Columbia International University alumnus is a finalist for South Carolina Teacher of the Year.  D. Craig Andrysczyk (pronounced: an-DRY-sack) graduated from CIU's Undergraduate School in 1990.  Known as "Math Daddy," Andrysczyk teaches fifth grade mathematics and science at Oak Pointe Elementary School in Irmo, S.C., a suburb northwest of Columbia. 

South Carolina's Teacher of the Year participates in a one-year residency program at the Center for Educator Recruitment, Retention and Advancement and serves as a statewide ambassador for the profession.  The winner also receives a $25,000 cash award. 

The winner will be announced April 27.
