Calling it “a celebration of God’s goodness,” the Columbia International University family came together to glorify God for all He has done on behalf of the school over the past few years, and revel in His creation.

The March 22 chapel was held at the renovated CIU lake and pavilion area which had been closed for several months due to construction. It was a beautiful, sunny and warm day with flowers budding and new foliage on the trees.

Dr. Ronald Kroll, the head of CIU's reaccreditation committee, reviewed the recent reaffirmation of CIU’s accreditation with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), saying, “We thank the Lord because He’s brought us to this point.”

Vice President for Development and Operations, Keith Marion, updated students on the progress of the Pine View Apartments, residence hall renovations, and library reconstruction.  Referring to last May’s blaze in the G. Allen Fleece Library, Marion said, “It’s exciting to see what God has done in the midst of a fire.”

Finally, Director of Alumni Ministries, Dr. Roy King, introduced students to a season of corporate prayer in which Alumni Ministries and Student Life will be teaming up with students to pray weekly for CIU.

Improvements were made to the dam at the CIU Lake.
