CIU to Host Workshop on Premarital and Marriage Counseling

March 23, 2011

Mrs. Robin Temples, MA, LMFT(S), director of Lexington Baptist Counseling Center, will lead a one-day workshop on PREPARE/ENRICH on the campus of Columbia International University on Thursday, March 31 in CIU’s Alumni Center.

PREPARE/ENRICH is one of the most widely used inventories and programs for premarital and marriage counseling.  The workshop will certify individuals to use the PREPARE/ENRICH instrument and implement the training program.

Temple holds a master’s degree in School Psychology from the University of South Carolina and also graduated from CIU with a master’s in Counseling. She is a clinical member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and a charter member of the American Association of Christian Counselors. She is also a licensed supervisor.  She is certified by Life Innovations, Inc. to train others to use the inventory and program.

PREPARE/ENRICH is a customized couple assessment completed online that identifies a couple's strength and growth areas. Based on a couple's assessment results, a trained facilitator provides four to eight feedback sessions in which the facilitator helps the couple discuss and understand their results as they are taught proven relationship skills.  Over three million couples have taken the PREPARE/ENRICH Program since it began in 1980.  The inventories have been utilized by over 100,000 trained clergy members, professional counselors, mentors, and marriage educators throughout the United States.  The training includes all the materials counselors need to begin using PREPARE/ENRICH in their community.  Counselors can also receive a complimentary online scoring credit.
