Columbia International University was well represented at this year’s Southeast Regional Conference of the Evangelical Missiological Society (EMS).

Nearly half of the 23 papers presented at the March 24th meeting were presented by scholars associated with CIU. Among them were seven students enrolled in the Intercultural Studies Ph.D. program, two faculty members and one alumna.

The conference was held at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in North Carolina with the theme: “Mission and Evangelism in a Secularizing World.”

Dr. Ed Smither, dean of the CIU College of Intercultural Studies says he is encouraged by the CIU students who showed themselves to be missions scholars.

Three more representatives of CIU will present papers at the EMS South Central Regional Meeting in Dallas on April 7.
