The women on the campus of Columbia International University are never without a friend when they attend the monthly gathering of the Wives Fellowship. The theme for the month of March was “Canvas and Conversation.”

CIU First Lady Debbie Smith stirred conversation among the women with a devotional on the creativity of God after which the women discussed the ways they enjoy being creative such as painting, baking, sewing, crafts and writing.

Student Life Office Administrative Assistant Lainie McWilliams then led the women in using acrylic paint to create a simple painting of sunshine in a blue sky with a few stalks of wildflowers appearing from the bottom of the painting. The women who had never painted followed McWilliams step by step while those with experience added their own creative flair.
