The Class of 2020 has arrived at Columbia International University. The freshmen registered and moved in to their new home on Aug. 17 with the help the Residence Life Team and other student leaders.

“It's overwhelming, but super-exciting at the same time,” said Nathan Leonard, one of the new freshmen. “I'm excited to start at CIU,” joined in another newcomer, Hannah Wegren.

Leading up to this day, the student leadership had been praying for the freshmen.

“It's so fun to finally put faces to the names we've been praying for,” said junior Marissa Martinez.

“I can't wait to see our new students become a part of our community,” added junior Rachel Joung.

Residence Life Director David Blanchard said he and his student team had been “preparing for new students to get here for weeks,” and they were “excited to finally have them on campus.”

And the freshmen expressed their enthusiasm to now be a part of the Christian atmosphere on campus.

“I'm excited to meet the people here and learn more about CIU, people, and God,” said Aaron Parker.

“I'm super-stoked to move into CIU,” added Andrew Haylett. “The ministry is so focused, and I can't wait to get involved!”
