Daughter of CIU’s First President with the Lord

Aimee Lambie McQuilkin, the daughter of the first president of Columbia International University, Robert C. McQuilkin, died on June 11 in Penny Farms, Fla. She was 97 years old.

Aimee McQuilkin was a 1940 graduate of Columbia International University, then called Columbia Bible College. She went on to a 40-year career in pioneer medical, educational, and church work in the frontier region of Colombia, South America. Her life is documented in the book, “Senorita Aimee,” authored by her sister, Marguerite Cartee.

Her brother, Robertson McQuilkin, president emeritus of CIU, described Aimee as a “sparkling presence in our lives from birth,” and “a model for us to follow with a life well lived to the glory of God.”

A memorial service for Aimee McQuilkin will be held June 19 at 2 p.m. at the Penny Farms retirement center in Florida. For details click on the following link to The State newspaper of Columbia, S.C.
