Sometimes when you least expect it – life knocks you down.  It could be the loss of a job.  The loss of a home.  The loss of a loved one.

You’re suddenly flat on your back.  How do you get up?  Should you even bother to get up?

International speaker and author Jeremy Kingsley, a Columbia International University alumnus, talks about how to respond to the inevitable hard times in his new book, “Getting Back Up When Life Knocks You Down.”

Kingsley, the founder and president of Onelife Ministries, says there are hidden opportunities in the hard times because God does not waste our trials or our tears.

“We can learn that each crisis is more than an ordeal to endure,” Kingsley said.  “It is also a process that leads to growth and strength for a lifetime.”

The book is endorsed by CIU President Dr. Bill Jones, and by Dick Lincoln, the pastor of Shandon Baptist Church in Columbia, S.C.

Lincoln says the book encourages people who are down to get up in faith, and gives practical steps on how to do that.

“It is a good read for anyone who has been knocked down by their own sin, by the opposition of the world, or by circumstances,” Lincoln said.
