Missiologists Meeting at CIU

CIU professor Dr. Ed Smither is the Southeast vice president of the Evangelical Missiological Society.

“Controversies in Mission” will be the theme when the Southeast regional Evangelical Missiological Society meets at Columbia International University on March 28.

The plenary speaker will be Dr. David Garrison who will lecture on his recent book, “A Wind in the House of Islam – How God is drawing Muslims around the world to faith in Jesus Christ.”

A number of CIU professors will be making presentations including:

Dr. Mike Barnett on “Is Business as Mission (BAM) Ethical?”
 

Dr. David Cashin on “Seven Types of Insider Movements”

 

Dr. Chris Little on “The Case for Prioritism.”

 

Dr. Ed Smither on “Power Encounter and Miracles in the work of medieval missionary monks.”

 

Professor Trevor Castor on “Does ‘people groups’ tell the whole story? The need for missiologists to rethink our categories.”
