Social Media influencer Myquillyn Smith, visited Columbia International University to share her expertise on all things “Home.”

Known online as “The Nester,” the New York Times bestselling author and home styling expert spoke to students in the CIU School of Business & Professional Studies.

“I help women create the home they have always wanted so they can use it the way they have always dreamed,” Smith said.

She shared her unique story and encouraged students to find the niche that God has given them, whatever it may be, and use it.

Smith’s books include “Welcome Home: A Cozy Minimalist Guide to Decorating and Hosting All Year Round.” Smith and her husband Chad have lived in 14 different houses providing her with plenty of practice at creating bold and beautiful rooms with the least possible items.

Smith’s home has been featured in several magazines, and she was chosen by Christianity Today as one of the top 20 creatives in 2016 for her first book, “The Nesting Place.” 

She and Chad have been married for 25 years and have three sons, one of whom is a CIU senior studying Business.
