Each fall, Columbia International University alumnus Jerry Ediger screens a football video in his Bible class at Westminster Christian Academy in Watkinsville, Georgia. It’s footage of Ediger getting paralyzed from the neck down in the first play of the 1983 Nebraska state high school football championships. He says that’s the moment he began strengthening his relationship with God.

After the accident, Ediger was able to finish high school and went on to study at CIU, then known as Columbia Bible College, graduating in 1993. His disability has not slowed his ministry.

Ediger served as a youth pastor before becoming a Bible teacher. He’s been sharing God’s love and grace at Westminster Christian Academy for 17 years.
