Dr. Michael Langston

Columbia International University professor of Chaplain Ministries, Dr. Michael Langston, has been named the 2016-2017 “Top Religious Leader of the Year” by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP). IAOTP offers members the opportunity to collaborate, share their ideas, and influence others in their field.

The honor is based on an individual’s professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, longevity in their field, other affiliations and contributions to their community.

With over 30 years of experience, Langston has served as a chaplain in the areas of healthcare, law enforcement, and in the military as a U.S. Navy chaplain. His ministry has taken him around the world to several nations including Afghanistan, Germany, Honduras, Iceland, Iraq, Japan, Korea and Kuwait.

Langston says that being a chaplain has given him the opportunity to “walk with people through the most difficult times and crisis of their lives,” as “a bearer of the presence of God.” Langston has also co-authored a new book with his wife Kathy titled, “A Journey to Hope, Healing the Traumatized Spirit.”

Langston will join other IAOTP honorees at a gala at the end of the year acknowledging their accomplishments.
