South Carolina Congressman Visits CIU Business Class

South Carolina U.S. House member Joe Wilson of Lexington County stopped by the Columbia International University campus to chat with business students as part of a tour of his home district and the surrounding area.

Wilson spoke to a Managerial Economics class and noted the influence of South Carolina on international trade naming a number of corporations with large manufacturing operations in the state such as Michelin, Boeing and BMW. He also discussed international trade agreements that he has favored that benefit South Carolina.

Wilson briefly toured the campus with Business Professor Scott Adams and CIU Community Ambassador Randy Halfacre, a former mayor of Lexington, South Carolina. Wilson was also introduced to CIU Provost Dr. James Lanpher and a number of CIU staff members.
