Summer School for Christian Educators

Summer School for Christian Educators

The Institute offers an opportunity for educators to network and make new friends.

Dozens of Christian school teachers and administrators from across the nation and around the globe were on the campus of Columbia International University July 13-17 for the International Institute for Christian School Educators (IICSE). The annual event is presented by the Lowrie Center for Christian School Education at CIU.

The Institute focuses on the philosophy of Christian school education and its implications for today’s Christian school.

Seminars and workshops offered this year included: “The Leadership Challenge: Defining the Culture,” “Contextualizing the Christian School for Internationals,” and “Excellence and the Christian School.”

Most of the sessions were led by professors from CIU’s College of Education. The keynote speaker was Dr. Glen Schultz, headmaster of Sherwood Christian Academy in Albany, Ga., and the author of “Kingdom Education.”
