Application and Costs
Pioneers new and current missionaries, and children of missionaries, may choose: 1. ONLINE MATERIALS ONLY - Students may choose a "materials-only" level for online/distance courses. - Books and CDs are purchased. - Students work at their own pace, receive no credit, and have no structured contact with a CIU professor. - Financial aid does not play into this option. - There is no application or registration process needed for this. it is handled completely through our Distance Education center. AUDIT/SEMINAR - Students who choose the "seminar" level. - They pay a flat fee (e.g., $250). - They purchase at least some of the materials, and submit for grading as many or as few assignments as they wish. - They attend class sessions taught by the CIU professor. - There is no application process needed for this. 3. CREDIT FOR CIU CERTIFICATE OR DEGREE - Students who choose the "credit" level. - They pay tuition at an agreed-upon rate, minus the special financial aid discussed here. - They purchase all materials required for the course, and complete all assigned work. - They attend class sessions taught by the CIU professor. - An application is required for this. Following is a list of application items needed with links to some of the the forms available from our website: - Application - To apply you will need a user name and password.
- Directions for the Applicant and Christian Experience Essay Instructions - This form provides instructions regarding the entire application process. Also note page two which provides directions for writing the Christian Experience Essay.
- General References (Note that these can not be from a family member) - You will need two of these.
- Pastor Reference.
- Official/Final Transcripts - These must be requested from the institution where an accredited Undergraduate Degree was completed. They need to be mailed to Seminary and Graduate Admissions at CIU.
- If the applicant is an international student, please contact Admissions at 800-777-2227, ext. 5335 for discussion of additional requirements.
- Also, if the applicant is a Graduate Student there may be additional tests and admissions requirements.
