The table above sets out the requirements for CIU Seminary & school of Mission's Master of Arts degree (no concentration) as they relate to a student's previous theological education. All Access Interns go through a dual admission acceptance process with Seacoast and CIU. Step 1 - The Intern applies to Seacoast using an online admissions form with all CIU needed information included. Step 2 -- After interview and review by Seacoast, the intern will be referred to CIU admissions. Step 3 - CIU admissions reviews and interviews applicant as needed and notifies the student/intern and Seacoast of its decision. Seacoast wants CIU to have full freedom in making an acceptance decision. This dual review and acceptance will provide a quality screening process for both organizations. *In the core, three courses could be readily adapted to be Seacoast-specific: In the elective component, at least seven Seacoast-specific courses could be developed and offered for credit. All core courses will be available in distance learning format by Fall 2008. In order for an intern to earn the Master of Arts degree, he/she must take at least ten courses on the Columbia campus. Those courses may be taken in daytime, evening, intensive (one-week), or weekend (four weekends per semester) format. The Biblical Ministry Certificate has no residence requirement. An alternate (stand-alone) form of the Biblical Ministry Certificate consists of: The full 10-course form, however, is recommended. Seacoast and CIU will work together to develop six-session courses for www.mynextsteps.org . This "high tech/high touch" leadership development curriculum will be offered to churches all across North America in 2008. It combines online content delivery (video of teacher/author approximately 7 to 10 minutes each) with case studies, reading, etc. Once the online assignments are completed, there is a mentor processing session with an application assignment for each lesson. Each course contains six lessons. Possible courses could be: Each of the courses would promote the CIU/Seacoast partnership and introduce church leaders in training to CIU's educational programs. The "mynextsteps" is being developed for Seacoast by Craig Terrill of Chicago. He is the founder of the educational learning software "Magnify Partners."
