View a detailed schedule for the McQuilkin Scholarship Weekend 2012.
During this three day weekend, the R.C. McQuilkin Scholarship (named for our first president) will be awarded. This award covers full-tuition at CIU for four years. Two $5,000 scholarships will be awarded, as well.
This exciting weekend will include faculty interviews, group discussions, interaction with current students and staff, and opportunities to fellowship with potential classmates. To qualify, students must be high school seniors with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and an SAT score of 1000 or above (total of math and critical reading sections, excluding writing section) or ACT composite score of 21 or above.
Interested participants must first complete the Scholarship Weekend Inquiry Form. Please note: this inquiry form does not register you to attend the Scholarship Weekend. Students who meet the test score and GPA qualifications to attend will be sent an invitation by their Enrollment Counselor.
After completing the inquiry form, an Enrollment Counselor will contact you to help you through the Scholarship Weekend application process. Please begin to prepare the following items:
1. CIU Undergraduate Admissions Application form (including application fee)
2. Christian Experience Essay (page 2; 600-word minimum)
3. Leadership essay, answering the question: "How do you anticipate being a leader on our campus?" (500 to 600-word minimum)
4. Unofficial high school transcript and SAT/ACT scores
5. Recent digital photo of yourself
The deadline to inquire for the weekend and have all the necessary paperwork turned in is Monday, November 12th, 2012. Your Enrollment Counselor will advise you how to submit your Scholarship Weekend application documents.

Accepting CIU Scholarships
Students awarded a leadership scholarship, including the R.C. McQuilkin Scholarship, will have until March 1st to accept the scholarship. To secure and accept the scholarship, the student must submit a $400 deposit ($300 enrollment and $100 housing). This amount will be credited to the student's account.
Restrictions
The student receiving the R.C. McQuilkin Scholarship is not eligible for any other CIU scholarships. Students receiving a Presidential, Dean or Servant Leader Scholarship are eligible for CIU grants up to the cost of tuition and fees. All students receiving the above CIU Leadership Scholarships must apply for all federal, state and outside aid, which will be applied prior to the CIU Leadership Scholarship being applied.
Travel and Accomodations
Travel to CIU is at the student's expense. If the student is traveling by air to Columbia, please notify CIU so that a CIU representative can transport the student from the airport to campus.
