Veteran's Benefits

If you have previously received veteran’s educational benefits at CIU: 

Veteran

Contact Tristan Pressley (ext. 5031 or tpressley@ciu.edu) as soon as you have registered for the upcoming term. Provide your name and number of credit hours enrolled. Also contact Mrs. Pressley every time you revise your course schedule by dropping or adding credit hours.

If you have previously received veteran’s educational benefits at another school (but not yet at CIU):

1) Submit VA Form 22-1995 to the VA Regional Office (copy to Tristan Pressley).

2) Contact Tristan Pressley (ext. 5031 or tpressley@ciu.edu) as soon as VA Form 22-1995 has been submitted. Provide her with your name, SSN, veteran’s SSN, address (including zip), program of study, degree desired, and school (college, grad, or seminary).

3) Contact Tristan Pressley (ext. 5031 or tpressley@ciu.edu) as soon as you have registered for the upcoming term. Provide your name and number of credit hours enrolled. Also contact Mrs. Pressley every time you revise your course schedule by dropping or adding credit hours.

If you have never previously received veteran’s benefits at any school:  

1) Visit www.gibill.va.gov/
Click “apply online” and then click “education”
Apply for your NOBE (Notice of Basic Eligibility) via the online VONAPP.

2) Contact Tristan Presley (ext. 5031 or tpressley@ciu.edu) as soon as VONAPP has been submitted. Provide her with your name, SSN, veteran’s SSN, address (including zip), program of study, degree desired, and school (college, grad, or seminary).

3) Contact Tristan Pressley (ext. 5031 or tpressley@ciu.edu) as soon as you have registered for the upcoming term. Provide your name and number of credit hours enrolled. Also contact Mrs. Pressley every time you revise your course schedule by dropping or adding credit hours.

If you have previously received veteran's benefits at CIU under a different degree program or major and you are in the process of changing your academic major to a new program of study:

1) Submit VA Form 22-1995 to the VA Regional Office (copy to Tristan Pressley).

If you qualify for the new GI Bill and wish to transfer your benefits to a family member:
