Biblical Ministry Certificate

  • Are credits earned in the Certificate program transferable to a degree?

Yes! Certificate students enroll in the same courses as masters students. Since CIU's Seminary and School of Ministry is fully accredited by the Southern Assoc. of Colleges and Schools and the Assoc. of Theological Schools, the courses may be applied towards a Masters or transferred to any other accredited graduate school as well.

  • Can I earn the Certificate without coming to campus?

Yes! All of the requirements for the Certificate are available through AccessCIU.

  • Do I need to have any particular Bible or ministry background to apply?

No. Certificate courses do not presume previous study in the Scripture or previous ministry background.

  • Is the Certificate a degree?

No. The certificate is a self-standing accredited program of study that forms the first half of a Master of Arts degree and the first third of a Master of Divinity degree.

  • Will I be required to learn Greek and/or Hebrew?

No. Several degree programs do include study in the biblical languages. Certificate students, however, need only a good grasp of English. Of course, you may choose one if you wish!
