M.Div. (Academic Ministries)

  • Can I be personally mentored in the area of teaching by an experienced faculty member?

Yes. The two year extended internship provides for just this. The second year involves a supervised teaching experience in a formal setting.

  • Can I get directly into a Ph.D. program with this degree?

Yes, especially if you choose to take the Biblical Studies Research Methodology course and produce a definitive scholarly essay on some aspect of Old or New Testament interpretation. Our graduates have entered a wide variety of highly respected doctoral programs both in the USA and abroad.

  • Will this program allow me to concentrate on Hebrew and Greek?

Yes. This track requires introductory grammar and exegesis courses in the two ancient languages of the Bible. Advanced courses also are offered as free electives.

  • Will this program prepare me as a Bible College or Seminary teacher?

Yes. The curriculum provides not only for content mastery but also for developing one's teaching and mentoring skills.
