Purpose and Objectives
The Biblical Languages major provides you with thorough training in the languages of the Bible. It prepares you to
apply your training in such areas as Bible translation and exegesis and use your training as a foundation for
graduate work or research.
In addition to the mission statement, general objectives, and requirements of the bachelor’s degree, the objectives
of the Biblical Languages program are to enable students to:
•
Master the basic grammar and syntax of the biblical languages.
•
Utilize standard language tools effectively.
•
Produce accurate translations of biblical texts into English by applying language skills and using language
tools.
