SPORT MANAGEMENT MAJOR

Purpose and Objectives

The Sport Management major equips students to impact the nations with the message of Christ through the world of sport.

The Sport Management major will equip you to achieve the following:

Articulate a personal biblically-based philosophy of sport management

Prepare for effective service and leadership in sport management-related activities both in the United States as well

as in cross-cultural contexts

Gain insights into the major settings in which sport professionals work today in interscholastic, collegiate, amateur,

and professional settings

Lay a foundation for future educational and vocational opportunities

Develop a knowledge and understanding of personal physical health and wellness and the importance of this

lifestyle to the profession of Sport Management

Students in the major will engage in an internship in a facet of American sport as well as in a cross-cultural, sport-related

internship. Each student will have the opportunity to enhance their professional career goals, weaving personal faith and

the opportunity to use their chosen career path as an opportunity to minister, live out and share the Gospel.
