Student Health Insurance
All students are required to have health insurance. You will be asked to provide proof of insurance coverage each semester (typically at, or prior to, registration). If you are covered by a guardian's or employer's plan, please verify your coverage will remain in effect while you are a student and that you will be covered in South Carolina. Each student should have a copy of his or her insurance card in case medical care is needed.
All students must enroll in the CIU plan or waive it because they have another insurance plan by the end of the registration period each semester. One of these options must be completed online in the Student Life section of CIUOnline. If you enroll for the insurance online, the cost of the insurance will be added to your fee statement. If you waive the student insurance, you must also provide a copy of your current insurance I.D. card to Health Services.
