Welcome to CIU!
Congratulations on your acceptance to Columbia International University. I have been here at CIU for 2 years now and the Lord continues to teach me new things every semester. For me, CIU was definitely God’s school of choice. He wanted me to learn more about Him, to grow in my faith, and learn to use the gifts He has given me for His glory. It has not always been easy, but growing in the Lord seldom is easy. He has continued to be faithful in his promises during my time here at CIU.
CIU is a quaint little campus, set right outside of the city that appealed to me because I can get to know others more deeply as well as experiencing the eclectic atmosphere of the city. The CIU faculty is great about encouraging us in our walk with the Lord and knowing students as individuals. The classes and chapel are academically and spiritually challenging, you cannot help but continue to grow and learn. Here at CIU I have also learned to channel my gifts and talents by being involved in on-campus and off-campus ministries. These opportunities have taught me leadership qualities, humility, and a love for all of God’s people. I have lived on the same hall for the 4 semesters I have been here, and therefore I have a strong bond to all of the women of Walker 2. Living in the dorms helps promote unity and accountability amongst the student body and I encourage you to be tight with your hall because the Lord can use the women of your hall for love and support. My roommates have also been a big part of my growth while here at CIU; mine have challenged me in my walk with the Lord and in my relationships with others. The student body is who makes this school what it is. Most everyone you can see has a heart to serve and honor the Lord.
I look forward to meeting all of you and getting to know you all. I will be praying for each of you as your summer’s come to a close. Feel free to ask anyone the questions you may have when you arrive. People are pretty good about giving advice around here.
See ya soon,
Kim Holley
