Tina (Winchester) Walker joined the CIU Faculty in 2011. Previously, she taught English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) to adult immigrants from all over the world for seventeen years. Prior to teaching adult immigrants English, Tina taught elementary and middle school students with Learning Disabilities for twelve years. She has served as an ESOL teacher trainer for the South Carolina State Department of Education, Office of Adult Education since 2008. Additionally, Walker has presented at a number of statewide ESOL conferences. She has taught US Citizenship classes to immigrants in the Columbia area since 2015.
Tina married Steve Walker in 2019. She has four stepchildren and two grandchildren. At CIU, she enjoys mentoring future ESOL teachers. In her free time, Tina enjoys taking long walks and short swims, connecting with close friends, and traveling with her husband to visit family and friends.
