Director of Communications and Marketing
Description
The Director of Communication and Marketing is responsible for implementing the vision and providing the leadership to effectively manage the communications and marketing efforts. The position reports to the Head of School and is an active member of the school’s Institutional Advancement team.
Responsibilities
- Identify major target audience needs and design communication tools for their needs.
- Manage a comprehensive marketing plan for the school.
- Develop and implement an internal marketing strategy to reinforce the school’s brand messages and customer satisfaction to the parent community.
- Develop and implement an effective word-of-mouth marketing strategy that will create internal and external buzz for the school.
- Develop relationships with and provide press releases to the media to provide newsworthy stories that will tell Ben Lippen’s story to the community.
- The director will be the main spokesperson, along with the head of school, for Ben Lippen in all communications to the public.
- Reinforce communication objectives of the school and achieve awareness of how Ben Lippen School is impacting the world for Christ academically, spiritually and experientially.
- Assist the head of school in communicating with target audiences and maintaining an awareness of school needs and issues.
- Act as conduit of information between parents, and leadership team.
- Manage external communications with local media, business, alumni, and current families.
- Develop and maintain media contacts, disseminating communication objectives and mission of school.
- Set design standards and oversee content of all external communications produced by the school.
- Maintain Ben Lippen’s communication standards, using the style guide and graphic standards, for all publications, printed materials and any items with the school’s image.
- Develop select support materials for various school divisions and departments.
- Provide new and improved format for publications, as needed.
- Maintain cost-effective publications.
- Monitor timelines for all publications.
- Manage media buying and creation of effective advertising campaigns.
- Serve as community contact for Ben Lippen School.
- Support the work of the Admissions, Development, and Alumni office to further the institutional advancement of Ben Lippen School.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will:
- Be a born-again Christian exhibiting a close personal walk with Jesus Christ: modeling an exemplary biblical lifestyle and evidencing maturity in the understanding and integration of sound biblical principles in classroom instruction and personal counseling.
- The director must have the ability to set goals and be motivated to reach them.
- Evidence a teachable spirit and general willingness to learn and grow.
- Evidence strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrate adeptness at problem solving and conflict resolution.
- Evidence strong organizational skills and ability to finish tasks in a timely manner.
- Demonstrate emotional maturity and stability in dealing with the challenges of life and school.
- Evidence the ability to maintain confidentiality pertaining to school matters.
- Evidence the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Possess strong computer skills and familiarity with appropriate learning technology.
- Have the ability to present a positive image of the school to others and to the community.
