Lower School Director of Student Life
Description
The Lower School Director of Student Life is part of the Lower School administrative team. The Director of Student Life operates as a campus supervisor on a rotation of all three Lower School campuses. The position also has the overall responsibility for Lower School student programs, special celebrations, activities, and school-sponsored social gatherings.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate as part of the Lower School leadership team in various administrative roles including parent communication and campus supervision.
- Together with the Lower School leadership team, lead and guide the student discipline process and implement Student Handbook policies, expectations, and standards.
- Serve as a curator of student culture at Ben Lippen School; focus on the “who” side of students and the overall Lower School experience.
- Foster a strong sense of community and spirit and promote the school’s core values in the Lower School.
- Work with divisional leadership to ensure the Lower School’s educational program delivers on the school’s mission.
- Develop and coordinate class-level activities, service projects, and programs with Lower School’s leadership team.
- Initiate student programs, oversee team activities, and collaborate with the Lower School Parent-Teacher Fellowship leaders to plan school-sponsored social gatherings.
- Collaborate with the Lower School leadership team to ensure support for all students’ relational growth in order to enhance school culture.
- Provide vision and oversight for the Lower School student life program.
- Work with the Head of School and Executive Team leaders to implement the School’s strategic initiatives and key PK3-4th grade priorities in the Lower School.
- Fulfill all other duties and responsibilities assigned by the school.
Qualifications
- Be of strong Christian faith
- Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred
- Prior experience in a similar student life role preferred
- Experience in an educational setting preferred.
- Proven leadership abilities
- Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Demonstrated skill using technology
- ACSI certification, or work toward attaining certification upon hiring
- Passion for serving children and families through the high calling of Christian education.
