Dean of Nursing Programs
Dr. Jill McElheny has over 27 years of nursing experience, and she came to CIU from Colorado Christian University where she served as the director of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program and professor of Nursing. She holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice from the College of Nursing at the University of Colorado. She also earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Science in Nursing from the Medical University of South Carolina, and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Furman University.
McElheny is board-certified as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and as an Emergency Nurse Practitioner. She considers nursing a calling and a ministry, and she enjoys sharing her faith with students. For the last 12 years, Dr. McElheny has served with Samaritan’s Purse International Relief, where she has traveled to many countries around the world. She expresses a deep desire to lead CIU nursing students to serve as the hands and feet of Christ as they care for patients.
