O. Danielle Kennedy

Associate Professor of English

B.A., Jacksonville University; M.A., University of Texas (at Tyler)

Danielle was born and raised in Palm Beach County, FL. Throughout those seasons, she was a journalist, a teacher, and a dramatist, producing and writing plays for her theatre company, which performed on stages and in festivals throughout South FL.

Before joining CIU’s undergraduate faculty in 2021, she had recently published her YA novel, Sunbeam and the Curse of the Golden Key, while teaching composition writing and speaking at author conferences in Texas and FL. She is currently underway for her second novel and a poetry compilation.

Danielle enjoys building relationships with students, writing, playing guitar, traveling, and playing sports (golf, basketball, softball, disc golf). Danielle’s passion for her students is that they grow deeper in Christ and make positive impact in the world through their individual callings, and to do good works which God has already prepared for them to do (Eph. 2.10).
